THE BLACK PHONE
This solo project reimagines the title sequence for The Black Phone with the goal of creating a darker introduction that supports the film’s suspenseful tone. The original sequence leaned heavily into a retro crime-drama aesthetic, and I saw an opportunity to explore a direction that felt more closely aligned with the film’s mood and story. To address that disconnect, I rebuilt the sequence from the ground up, modeling nearly all assets, filming practical elements, and crafting the lighting to evoke a sense of dread and claustrophobia. The result is a modernized intro that reflects the story’s atmosphere and immerses viewers from the first frame. Music used in the film is licensed and not original.
